Inspired by nature,
celebrating a love of colour
MY ART STORY
Painting has always been my dream goal influenced by my mum and grandmother at an early age but I didn’t get to it until much later in life.
After a few dabbles in 1995 after I completed my MBA, my painting journey started in earnest during Covid!
Being able to access workshops and tutorials online with Fabio Cembranelli, Angela Fehr, Michael Solovyev, Steve Cronin, Lois Davidson, Michael White, Scott Swinson, Steffan Gevers, Jean Haines and Billy Showell has been amazing. This followed by in person guidance from local artist Dorothy Compton, Kasey Sealy an amazing Australian artist and a retreat with Oliver Pyle, has helped fast track my learning. Support from my family and local art societies, the Maitland Regional Society of Artists and the Society of Artists Newcastle and help from lots of wonderful books and you tube videos by many amazing artists have made this journey one of pure pleasure.
While I have still so much to learn I love the way watercolour pigment works with water and the endless effects you can get. I love a variety of subjects and rich colour! Watercolour and ink, simply fabulous! Now studying the Max Meldrum Method, Australian tonal impressionism for oils with Pablo Tapia.
